Grab Your Glowsticks & Party Hard: Sho Stomp Rave Party At The Boulevard Theater

Rave on the strip?  Yes—it’s happening.  Don’t wait for EDC to get a taste of the underground music scene that will cost you a pretty penny.  OFASHO, the EDM promoter from Atlanta, has created something special for Vegas.  Get ready for monthly raves unlike any you’ve seen before as Atlanta EDM DJs and our flashy Sin City DJs mix their styles for one unforgettable party.

Let’s get down to (music) business.  Hosted by MC Ross, other DJs include Dj Syl-O, DJ E. Coli, DJ Ployd, DJ Zaiaku, DJ Crime and DJ BPSS.  But that’s not all; there will be two special guest DJs and plenty of gorgeous showgirls, so you’ll be entertained all night long.  Wicked Hammer Energy Drink will be supplying specials at the bar, so those 21 and up can enjoy their favorite drinks, hit up the dance floor, and, of course, listen to some of the best underground EDM.

The Boulevard Theater is proving that they can make an incredible platform for all kinds of performing arts and nightlife entertainment.  With over 19,000 square feet of multi-level space, five lavish bars, plenty of seating (for when you need a little dancing break), and state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems that are perfect for a rave, this venue is the place to be (and it's just steps from the MGM Grand).  Even better?  The Boulevard Theater has historically been a hotspot for techno; it’s the same space where Club Utopia and the later Empire Ballroom shook up the EDM scene.

Anyone over the age of 18 is welcome, and there’s no dress code, so slip into something neon and sexy and get ready to party.  Presale tickets are $10, tickets at the door is $20 for locals and $40 for out-of-state visitors.  Or you can go big (like you should in Vegas) and snag $50 VIP presale tickets or $60 VIP tickets at the door.  Sho Stomp doors will open at 10 p.m. and close around 6 a.m., and you can get your rave on every third Thursday of the month.  The first one is January 17, so make sure you get your tickets, grab your glowsticks, and raise your glass to the rave that’s redefining the EDM scene in our very own Sin City.

Whiskey Drinkers and Mixology Fans: Cheers to Two New Bars At the Palms

Mini-bars are becoming the hot new thing in Vegas casinos where visitors can grab a delicious drink in style before they hit one of the big clubs.  The Palms is definitely raising the bar with two new additions:  Scarlet, which opened in December, is a sophisticated mixology bar, and Social will open January 25 with a menu perfect for whiskey lovers.

Thirsty for signature cocktails and infused spirits?  Scarlet highlights the art of mixology in an intimate setting.   The 200-square-foot space is adjacent to N9NE Steakhouse and features a diverse menu created by Francesco Lafranconi and the N9NE bartenders.  Loosen up a bit with the Foreplay shot, a tasty combination of Licor 43, Baileys Caramel Cream, Absolut Vanila, all served s’mores style.  Or sip on one of their signature cocktails or seasonal infusions.  You won’t be disappointed. 

Social sports a menu that will make whiskey-drinkers rejoice.  The new bar will offer a selection of beverages, but they’ll feature an impressive list of whiskey-based cocktails.  With over 30 unique labels, single malts and limited edition bourbons, Social will surely fix your whiskey cravings.  Not sure which whiskey you want?  Bartenders can pour you a sample so you can pick what you’re really craving.  Sip on one of their libations like the Social Misfit, a mix of Disaronno, Bulliet Rye, White Peach Nagomi and lemon juice.  You’ll have a perfect view of the gaming action as you relax in the plush booths.

The Palms, which is undergoing a $50 million property renovation, is paving the way for stylish mini bars that are perfect for grabbing a quick drink or enjoying top-shelf spirits.  Scarlet and Social will quickly become Vegas hotspots as they offer the perfect mix of delicious drinks in a sexy, chic, and sophisticated setting.  We'll raise our glass to that.

What’s Hot: Your Las Vegas Weekend Preview

Another Vegas weekend is upon us, which means you better put on your sexy face and hit the town.  Get ready to move on the dance floor as some of the hottest acts in the music industry take over the clubs.  Looking for some raunchy humor this weekend?  Several comedians will take the stage and keep you laughing before you grab drinks at one of the hot bars or swanky lounges.  With CES ending Friday, and the beauties for the Miss America Pagaent in town, Vegas is crawling with reasons to celebrate.  Whatever you’re in town for, Sin City has a little fun for everyone.  And drinks.  Don’t forget the drinks. 

Nightlife

Friday

Special guests Nick Valensi of the Strokes, Chris Kennedy, and Jeremy Espinosa will kick of the weekend at Body English at 10 p.m.  TJR, who has received support from top DJs like Tiesto, Calvin Harris, and Steve Aoki, will start spinning at 2 a.m.

It’s time to get down with the mustache man at Haze.  DJ Kurch will bring the beats alongside Kaskade, the house music producer and DJ who has helped kick-start the careers of fellow artists.  The party starts around 10 p.m.

Celebrate the end of the workweek at The Bank on Friday at 10 p.m.  R&B superstar Keri Hilson takes the stage and DJ Ikon will bring the sounds for a night that’s sure to roll into the early morning.

Saturday

Why wait until the nighttime to start popping bottles?  GBDC is the place to be for daytime partying, sexy ladies, and sounds by Mark Stylz this week starting at 1 p.m.  Get ready for piñatas, stilt walkers and beer bongs.

Head to Tao at 10 p.m. for sounds by DJ Vice, who’s known for owning the dance floor and helping to launch some of the biggest clubs in the U.S. 

Splitbreed is taking over LAX at 10 p.m. with a live performance.  Get ready to party hard as this four-piece EDM band brings the energy that will keep the crowd pumped all night long.

Marquee is bringing Bassjackers to the stage at 10 p.m., so prepare for a house music DJ set unlike any other.  If you haven’t heard their “Mush Mush” track that got picked up by Tiesto, you’re in for a treat.

Sunday

The Game will be performing tracks from Jesus Piece live at one of the hottest nightclubs in Vegas.  DJ Five, the man who spins at all the hottest spots, will also bring the sounds this Sunday night at The Bank.

Enjoy the last hours of the weekend at Body English with music by DJ Shift, Cut Chemist and OB-one.  Three of the hottest DJs in one place?  Now that’s how you keep the party going.

Concerts and Shows

Daniel Tosh is back at The Mirage, so if you’re easily offended, you might want to skip out on this one because he doesn’t hold back on taboo issues.  Showtime is 10 p.m. on Friday, so come see why he has one of the most popular shows on Comedy Central.

The House of Blues is bringing in some incredible talent for their show in Friday.  Bands include The Used, We Came As Romans, Crown The Empire and Mindflow.  The show kicks off at 5 p.m.

Comedian Steven Wright is bringing his deadpan delivery to Orleans Hotel and Casino on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m.  Here’s his bio (which shows a little taste of his personality):  “I was born.  When I was 23 I started telling jokes.  Then I started going on television and doing films.  That’s still what I am doing.  The end.”

Blues rocker Gregg Allman performs at the Pearl Concert Theater at The Palms on Saturday at 8 p.m.  Once part of the great Allman Brother Band, Gregg continues showcasing his talent as a solo act.

Special Events

Don’t miss the gorgeous ladies who are vying to be crowned the 2013 Miss America.  The pageant is held at Planet Hollywood and starts at 8 p.m.

Ready for some sports action?  UNLV men’s basketball team is taking on the Air Force Falcons at the Thomas & Mack Center on Saturday at 7 p.m.
